Advice needed about NLP course
« on: March 01, 2006, 11:43:03 PM »

Smiley I am studying Law at University and I'm considering undertaking an NLP course to enhance my personal attributes. Suggestions would be much appreciated as to where to do the course and who to do it with!

Thanks Live With Passion!

I've just  completed my NLP Practitioner course in Edinburgh with Eric Rainey from Rainworks.  It was an acceleterated learning course and was excellent.  You get 20 CD's to work through before attending the course, and the training is 7 consecutive days so you are totally immersed in the learning.  It's intensive and there's homework/studying every night - well worth the effort.

Eric's a fantastic presenter.  He's speaking at the Inspire Scotland event next weekend if you're interested in seeing him in action.  This will be a fab event - 12 top personal development speakers over the weekend of 11 & 12 March  - only £147 for the weekend!  Visit www.inspirescotland06.com and quote promotion code DGB100 if you book.

Good luck with the NLP - it's amazing!  If you want any further info, let me know.

Hi D,
Thank you for the advice, it is much appreciated. It sounds like the course you did was amazing! The Inspire Scotland event looks really good, have you been before or is this a new event? I have been considering doing my NLP course with Topher Morrison as I have heard great things about his course. Do you have any information on Topher?

Live With Passion Sam x x x x

PS: What do you intend to do with your NLP certificate? Is is for personal use or do you intend to put it into to professional practice?

Hi Sam

The Inspire Scotland event was fantastic - totally inspirational - wow!!!  This was the first event and the good news is that Mike Berry's organising a follow-up event which is taking place in Edinburgh on 28 October.  Tickets are available at seriously discounted rates until 31 March - only £120 for 3 tickets (£40 each) or £100 for 2 (£50 each).  If you're interested, visit www.inspirescotland06.com and click on the abc logo on left hand tool bar under photos, then on next event and there's a paypal link.

Topher Morrison was one of the speakers at the last event and he was brilliant - I was very impressed with his training session and he taught us how to do some self-hypnosis.

I intend to use my NLP as an extra tool for my toolkit as I've set up a business called Global Hugs Ltd.  I'm a life & business coach, personal development trainer, and I'm organising and promoting personal development events throughout the UK.  My mission is to spread group hugs around the world to send love and connection to those that really need it.  HUGS stands for Hunger for Unlimited Growth of Self.

Hope you're enjoying uni - which one do you go to?

Big hugs

Hi fairybutterfly,

There are 3 free guides you can download which between them should help you choose:

What NLP Schools Don't Want You To Know by Topher Morrison
Guide To Choosing An NLP Practitioner Course by Judy Apps and Paul Belcher
Choosing An NLP Practitioner Training by Andy Smith (me!)

My top tip is to meet or speak to the trainer beforehand so you get an idea of what they are like.

Also you can dip a toe in the water by visiting NLP groups local to you - there's a pretty comprehensive listing here.

I hope this is useful,
Andy Smith

I have recently completed a prac course with Steve Linder.

It was an amazing course and taught by someone who actually uses NLP with clients on a regular basis.

Web site is www.sricoaching.com.

The next course in europe will be next year now.

Hope that helps.

I did my prac last sept with Richard Bandler, Paul McKenna and Michael Neill. I highly recommend this course. It changed my life Smiley I was promoted at work within one month of completing the course. The really cool thing was I got the director and my line manager to create the vacancy for me Wink

Richard is awsome, Shocked Paul is brill Cool and Michael is simply the warmest human being on the planet Grin

The group was large but there are plenty of assistants to help and you get to practice with lots and lots of different people. Smiley

I completed my master prac in April with Richard, John La Valle and Paul Mckenna. This course was also fantastic.

John mastery of language patterns is second only to Richard's Wink

Namaste,
Mike.
